About Me
Hi my name is Kate Tolstad and I graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science in the spring of 2008.
I am currently in my 16th year of teaching. I taught two years in Hillsboro, ND and Thompson, ND (part-time at each school) and three years at Bottineau, ND. I am in my 11th year at Westhope High School.
2010 Outstanding New Career and Technical Education- Family and Consumer Science Teacher of the Year recipient.
I live on our farm northwest of Westhope on a farm with my husband, Devin and our four beautiful children, Hunter (16), Avery (11), Harper (9) and Brynn (6)

Class Rules & Expectations

The following from class syllabuses:
- Attendance is expected for class
- Bring material to class everyday
- Student participation will be required in class discussion, oral presentations, labs and projects
- Assessment will follow each unit of study using variety of strategies
- Homework is due at the beginning of class
- Late homework Policy: 10% off each day late, with a maximum of 50% off, no homework is accepted after 10 days. It is your responsibility as a student.
- You must pickup your missed work as soon as you get back to school!! Homework is DUE the next time you have class.
- Please keep track of your homework.
